\f2 \i NOTE: This program is for the Apple IIGS only!\par
\par
SEVERE BUG FIXED: This version fixes a severe flaw in the program\u8217?s code that could have caused any harddisk in slot 6 to be destroyed.\f2 \i0 \par
\par
\par
\f2 \b Introduction\f2 \b0 \par
\par
\u8220?Asimov\u8221? is the name of an Internet FTP server that has quite a lot of old Apple II software, mostly games, on it. Since this software is intended for use with Apple II emulators, it is stored as disk images. After downloading and decompressing these files, use Asimov (this program) to transfer them to 5.25" disks. Asimov also gives you the ability to create 5.25" image files.\par
\par
\f2 \par
\f2 \b Using Asimov\f2 \b0 \par
\par
After you\u8217?ve launched Asimov (either from GS/OS or ProDOS 8), you\u8217?ll be presented with the following options: \par
\par
\tab \f2 \i About Asimov\par
\tab \tab \f2 \i0 Displays credits.\par
\par
\tab \f2 \i Create DISK from .dsk file\f2 \i0 \par
\tab \tab Lets you select a disk image file (usually has the appendix\par
\tab \tab \u8220?.dsk\u8221?) and writes it to a 5.25" disk. Please note that the\par
\tab \tab disk must have been formatted (DOS 3.3 or ProDOS) before.\par
\par
\tab \f2 \i Create .dsk FILE from disk\par
\tab \tab \f2 \i0 This will instantly read a 5.25" disk and save its content to\par
\tab \tab a file you specify.\par
\par
\tab \f2 \i Storage order\f2 \i0 \par
\tab \tab Use this option to toggle between DOS 3.3 and ProDOS storage\par
\tab \tab order. The storage order is the way a disk is read / written.\par
\tab \tab Usually, an emulator requires a specific order. Most\par
\tab \tab emulators have their default storage order set to DOS 3.3.\par
\par
\tab \f2 \i Quit\par
\tab \tab \f2 \i0 Quits the program. You can quit to the launching application,\par
\tab \tab restart the system, or soft- or hardboot slot 6. The later\par
\tab \tab means that the Startup Slot in the GS Control Panel will be\par
\tab \tab set to slot 6 before the system will be restarted.\par
